wildfire_evacuations

Evacuation orders and alerts

Active evacuation orders and alerts in B.C. with the agency that issued each, the event and the date it was last modified. These are issued by local governments and First Nations (not by BC Wildfire Service) and aggregated by the province. An Order means leave; an Alert means be ready: they are kept apart in status. A record not modified for over 30 days is flagged possibly_outdated, so confirm with the issuer. An empty answer is not proof an area is safe: rescinded (All Clear) orders are removed from the layer.

Cost: 2 units of your allowance (see Rate limits).

Parameters

  • status (Order, Alert, all, optional): default "all"
  • event_type (Fire, Flood, Landslide, Other, optional)
  • bbox (array of values, optional): west, south, east, north in degrees (WGS 84)
  • include_geometry (boolean, optional): default false
  • limit (integer, optional): min 1, max 50, default 25
