trapline_areas

B.C. trapline area identifier at a point (reference area, no holder)

Find the identifier of the registered trapline area that contains a point (lat, lon) in British Columbia, from the province's Traplines of British Columbia layer on DataBC (Open Government Licence - British Columbia; 2,623 areas on 24 Oct 2026), read live. Returns the layer's area identifier only (for example TR0738T005) for up to 5 areas. It does not return who holds a trapline, any boundary, area or length, and it is not a right to trap, to be on the land, or to have access. The areas belong to individual licensed trappers: do not use this to locate or identify a trapper. Point lookups are limited by this server's request budget and per-client limits; repeated points could in principle list areas, so it is not for mapping them. For the holder, rights or conflicts contact the regional wildlife office or FrontCounter BC.

Cost: 3 units of your allowance (see Rate limits).
