bc_major_projects

Find projects in the province's Major Projects Inventory (Economic) layer on DataBC (Open Government Licence - British Columbia; 648 projects when read on 24 Oct 2026), read live: projects proposed, planned or under construction in British Columbia with an estimated capital cost of at least $15 million ($20 million in the Lower Mainland), private and public, such as hospitals, housing developments, mines, energy and transportation projects. Search by project name, municipality, economic region (vancouver_island_coast, mainland_southwest, thompson_okanagan, kootenay, cariboo, north_coast, nechako, northeast), category, status or public funding, or by distance from a point (nearest first). Each project returns its description, estimated cost, status, stage, type, developer, dates and the date its row was last updated. It is not the government's capital plan and not a list of ministry projects: it holds only projects that were publicly reported and met the size threshold, rows can be out of date, and the estimated cost has no unit in the layer (the thresholds suggest millions of dollars). It carries no contact details.
