bc_fish_observations

Known B.C. fish observations (species recorded at a place and date)

Find where a fish species has been recorded in British Columbia, from the Province's Known BC Fish Observations and BC Fish Distributions layer on DataBC (307,570 observations among 382,527 records, read live): search by species name or code, waterbody name or type (lake, stream, wetland), a date range, or distance from a point (nearest first). Returns species, waterbody, observation date, activity and life stage when recorded, the recording agency unit, the source database and a catalogue report link. A record shows that the species was found there, never that it is absent elsewhere, and it says nothing about numbers, size, fishing rules or access. The layer also holds 74,879 stocking release records and 78 'No Mussels Found' absence records: they are left out unless include_releases or include_absences is set, and every row says record_kind. A few rows are mussels or crayfish (not_a_fish). Not salmon escapement counts.

Cost: 3 units of your allowance (see Rate limits).
